Penny Hutson began her career as a newspaper reporter when she was only seventeen. After studying under award-winning author Tony Ardizonne in the creative writing program at Old Dominion University, she became an English teacher and later school librarian for middle and high school students. Now retired, she spends her days creating spunky characters and twisted plots for her historical fiction and mysteries. She and her husband live in Virginia Beach, but they love to travel around the world and spend time with their grandson in southern California.
